Hi all,
As founder and sys admin of the server running, I feel compelled to post this here.
An issue was identified earlier by my old friend @ingbrzy who notified me our site was unavailable. On checking, our session table had became overloaded with requests. An issue with an external request from 1,000s of IPs caused this DB table to fill up.
Mitigation is in place, and to further note, our systems are patched and up to date. I will be performing further work in the coming weeks on the forum as part of regular maintenance.
Sorry to those of you who still visit the site, please be assured, I may not be active here, but this is still very much something I keep an eye on regularly
