Hi gents,

i was with xiaomi 17 3.0.302.0 WPCEUXM.C07 rom with EU device.
However due to the call recorder and any other apps , i unlocked the boot loader and flashed 3.0.302.0 WPCMIXM.C07 rom.
Source : https://mifirm.net/download/21763
I am quite happy with rom and want to re lock the boot loader.
Is there any safety way to do it withouth being bricked the device ?
Will it trigger any other issues in the future if i want to unlock again ?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks , you saved my day. Only working version of this bloody sw is that one. I lost 5 hours to find why device is not find by Mi Flash.

I read somewhere that locking the bootloader using cmd command prompt ("fastboot oem lock") can brick device?

I used that method to lock the bootloader on the Xiaomi 14 last year, but I recently read that that method can brick the device.
Does anyone know anything more about it? Someone who has locked a more that one bootloader using that method.

if your device is CN and if you are trying to RE LOCK it while EU rom is in it then yes.Your device may gone brick. Or vice versa.
There are also other circumcitences like if you use TWRP / custom rom and try to re lock it.
My device was global and i only change the rom.

BTW i wish patience EU rom users...

ONLY lock device afterr full flash with flash_lock bat etc... never with OEM LOCK, can brick

Anyone else have experience with this?

I locked one phone (Xiaomi 14) via cmd oem lock. That is not a sufficient number for me to claim anything, but I would like someone else to say what they think.

@PawelJ , Did you have personal experience or did you read it somewhere?

I can't comment on this.
From personal experience, I have locked many bootloaders this way without any problems.
I have not seen/read anywhere that this method of locking can cause problems if the conditions are met.
If I thought it was dangerous, I wouldn't put it in the instructions.

If you unlock with exploit you should flash all partition and next flash and lock . Cause exploit could affect something's else on use. If unlock official you could eom lock.

Ok, now it's a little clearer. You should have said right away that it depends on how the bootloader is unlocked.

@gogocar62 , that devices was been official unlocked?

I remember reading at work back when I was into modding that one of the Xiaomi 17 bootloader unlock exploit versions would corrupt one of the partitions—I can't remember which one. You had to reflash that partition as well, otherwise re-locking the bootloader (OEM lock) could brick the phone. I also remember two people saying they had tested it on the Chinese Xiaomi 17 and brick

About unofficial unlock - if you want to relock bootloader, erase efisp partition (it's the one used for exploit) and then you can use fastboot oem lock (after flashing stock ROM) and it will be relocked just fine (it can be empty, it doesn't matter). As far as I checked the latest script (with the second exploit method) it does that automatically, so in theory you shouldn't have to do it, but... just in case.

I'm very much a newbie at this, and I'm not sure if I understand enough of that to know if my question has been answered or not. I have a Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 14. It's a monster phone with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, 16+6 gb ram and 500 gb rom. It's the Chinese phone that came with Indian OS, so I couldn't use contactless pay. The way I use the phone made it useless, so after endless attempts at an official unlock I got an unofficial one. After that I flashed the global version 3.0.306.0.WOPMIXM.C07. It went fine. I expected that to allow me to pay contactless in Europe and the Caribbean, but found this requires a re-lock. I am now worried that re-locking will stop it working. I apologise if the posts above already answered this, but if they did I diddn't understand enough to be sure.
Thank you in advance.

You can't relock bootloader on Global ROM if your phone is Chinese version.

Is there anything else I can do to get out of this. Of all the recent advances in phones, being able to use the wallet is the one that made all the difference to me. I really want to use the wallet in Europe and the Caribbean, but just the UK would be OK. I don't want a phone that won't do that.
