It seems that there is a typo in update-script.sh

format("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/cust", "0", "/cust");
instead of
format("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/platform/bootdevice/by-name/cust", "0", "/cust");
