Whatsapp Notification Sound Issue

Hi,

I have updated the mi 5s to android 7 version 2 weeks ago. Since than, I can not use any custom tune for whatsapp's notification sound. I can use default tunes but when I choose any custom mp3 or any format, tune is not ringed. I checked all of permissions but there is no problem. That options are used to be. Please help me.

Yes I have wiped cache and dalvik, when I updated the phone. And for now the version is 7.6.29

You must copy your favourite Sound into the system/media/notification sound!! Only sounds there are play!

Its worked. Damn! This is ridiculous! I can use that tune on android 6 versions without root.

That is since May Updates on any devices...is Android 7...

But could you explain the steps? I want a mp3 for WhatsApp but it work only with system sound. I have a redmi 4x with nougat. With mm works fine
