On call Mute not working on Motorola DEFY

Please help with this. My on call mute is not working on my defy. Currently running on 1.11.11.
Have been having this issue since long, didnt realize it until someone pointed out.

I have latest version of MIUI and have the same problem. There is no sound during incalls or outcalls.
