Miui 10 on Mi 8 Explorer: does Android Auto work?

I just got my Mi 8 Explorer and I'm still under 15 days period. I used Mi 5 before Global Stable and it worked with my Android Auto on my 2016 Civic. Right now the Chinese Global Miui 10 on my Mi 8 EE doesn't. So I want to try on this Miui 10 Europe ROM after I unlock my bootloader.

So has anyone tested Android Auto using this ROM? Does it work?

It works on my 2017 Chevy Cruze. That being said Spotify and pocketcasts doesn't work for me.

Do you have the black bar on top in Android Auto screen? If no, what version of Miui 10 for EE are you running? I'm on Miui 10 Stable for Mi 8 EE and although Android Auto loads, it has the black bar on top of the screen. Turning off the notch doesn't fix it. Wondering how you use Android Auto with Miui 10 on your Mi 8 EE?

Google fixed it in Android Pie, so you need a release based on that
Using 8.9.24 on my MI 8, and works perfectly with android auto

You need a Pie build...
