Mi5S gets slow and warm

Hi, this summer my Mi5S has started behaving like it's never done before: it's slow as hell, and often hot.

I wonder if it's a battery issue or something related to updates and stuff.

I am running Android 6.0.1 MIUI 8.0 (xiaomi.eu of course).

Please let me know if you have any hint!

On my MI 5S PLUS phone I already have MIUI 10 with 7.0. It does not heat up and it's a good time. Find it!

If MIUI is upgraded to 10, the android will be upgraded to 7.0. I would like you to look at XDA if you can not open MIUIHU. Do not mess up your phone.

Great, one can safely jump to miui 10 directly from miui 8, right?
