i am trying to change location on my phone. I bought it in China, but now I read that you can not alter location on a Xiaomi bought in China? I read somewhere that you can download a file ot something to change language on other phones? Can someone help?

Download and install our ROM then you can change region or Official Global... however reminder that you need to unlock your bootloader first in either case.
