New Face unlock crashing on Redmi 5 Plus (vince)

Hi everyone,

When you try to setup a face model for face unlock on a Redmi 5 Plus it tries to load the camera but crashes and gives the following output:



Camera is working, so I don't think that's the issue. Do you have an idea of what the output above means and if face unlock isn't working on this ROM for this device?

After some research, we've concluded that only Snapdragon-based devices support MIUI's implementation of Face Unlock on a native level, which means devices like Redmi 6 and Mi 5c have no chance of getting Face Unlock to work, so we will hide the feature from non-Snapdragon devices in next release.

However, Redmi 5 Plus is a Snapdragon-based device and the error you're getting is entirely different than the error the unsupported devices are getting.
We're still researching the cause of that FC.
