Could you enlighten me about what "fuse" is as i have never heard of it?

fuse is a kernel-module which allows userspace applications to create new filesystems.
Our kernel has built-in fuse an I tried already with ntfs for fuse and it does work.

But I don't know if there is an cifs application for fuse.

With cifs you can mount network resources.
