How can a Gallery app functionality suddenly appear?

I had the latest MIUI and now HyperOS ROM on Poco F3 and also on the Mi 11i and when I used the search option in the Gallery app, the text search functionality was not present and then one day it was just there and working, how is this possible? There was no update or anything.

By text search functionality I mean typing a text in the search field of the Gallery app and it will find a photo that has that text in the photo.
