Updating my Father's Motorola Xoom Tablet with Android 4.1.2. Benefit by going to XioMI?

Currently running Android 4.1.2 Is there a compatible ROM for it? I'm fairly comfortable with Updates, but I don't want to "Brick" the tablet, as I like the built in HDMI functionality.
(And it's my Father's... Updating for Father's Day.)
