smartcover mode

I have the problem that the smartcover mode of my Mi 9T does not work. It is on and I have searched the whole phone with a magnet. At no point of the case does the mobile phone react.
Can anyone help me? Are there others who have had the same experiences?
With my Redmi Note 4X this mode always worked.

Hello, same here on my Mi 9T with xiaomi.eu 9.10.24 beta...
I never tested on official ROM so I really don't know if this feature exists on this phone.

I turn off smart cover option, because it was doing my phone randomly turn off.
