Outdated app icons system wide (latest Xiaomi.eu V12.0.8)

Finally got my Poco X3 NFC, switched to Xiaomi.eu and I'm very happy with it. However, I've noticed that all apps (especially Google Apps) have very outdated icons, from years ago! Changing themes doesn't fix things. Also installed Nova Launcher and icons stay the same (even after switching the Icon theme within the app). So it's not a launcher thing. Any idea on how to fix it?

Don't worry.. It's not a bug.. That's how our ROMs looks like.. Google icons have MIUI design adapted..

Why though?
Is this a xiaomi.eu thing? Because it certainly wasn't like that on my previous (global) ROM. Is there any way to change them?

Global ROM doesn't use all MIUI features.. we are just better..

No doubt about that... way better. With the wrong icons though! Oh, well...
