Migrating From Chinese Stock Rom To Eu Rom

I bought my mi3 in China but even after figuring out how to install gapps I'm still unhappy with the bloatware. I have gb of internal storage available but still get notices saying that I have no storage to install apps. I need a step by step video tutorial on how to make this transition as smooth as possible.

I follow the instructions step by step. The adb installation in the command prompt completed as in the video. But, for some reason when I go to recovery it is still MI-Recovery 2.0.1 it is not the TWRP recovery. I am not sure what to do next???

U can try flashing twrp with twrp flasher(doesnt require root).u simply google search for xiaomi twrp flasher v1.0.0.1 for windows &follow the thread in miui forum.

Actually 1st time ,mine also showed not responding 2nd /3rd time it worked..first of all enable developer option(tapping miui version 7times) & enable usb debugging &then manually go into fastboot mode(power off device ,then vol down+power button);open twrp flasher with mi3 connected,untick adb bootloader&flash.(try for 2-3 times &ur pc should have internet connection for dwnlding twrp recovery file).this should work.

Will having the Mi PC Suite on the PC effect the outcome?

I uninstalled mi pc suite just in case.

Which version of miui rom r u using?is it official?plz share screenshot.do install mi flash,mi pc suite,minimal adb &fastboot.if u r using any marshmallow rom,google search 'root any marshmallow based miui rom without losing stock recovery' .follow the 1st thread (search twrp recovery for mi3& dwnld it).after rooting ,u can install flashify from play store &flash twrp. If still not working,u can flash any chinese /global fastboot rom through mi flash(just google for it) & then 1st try using twrp flasher(bfor flshig do mention ur android version as if u r on kk rom ,need to merge partition bfor flashing mm rom)

volume up + power now = black screen with mi logo for 10 +minutes and nothing else.

The mi flash was the OEM the ROM was OEM. It has 4.4.4 on it.

Take a look at iamme729's post

Use this command.... Fastboot boot recovery. img < recovery image name...you have to boot to recovery to overwrite the Mi Recovery...its a very commonly overlooked step....
fastboot boot <img file name>, e.g. fastboot boot twrp.img.

fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
fastboot boot twrp.img

If it is kk rom,first dwnld any official kk based miui rom(miui5;miui6&upto miui 7.1.2 global/chinese stable fastboot rom).flash through mi flash &then u should get ota update&update upto 7.5 /8 stable(mm).actually 7.1.2 merges partition.then after enabling usb debug........try flashing twrp using any of the above mentioned method.
