Is Redmi 3 Fake If Box Has No Authentication Label?

I recently bought my Redmi 3 pro phone at a legitimate store. It came with a fake ROM which I eventually got updated by the store. Now I see that there can also possibly be a fake phone. There is no authentication label on the Redmi 3 box. Does that mean it's a fake phone? I ran the MI verification app scanned the QR code on the box and it authenticates it as a Redmi 3 with the correct IMEI number. So fake or not?
