GPS fix JBL 7

Two days ago i recieved a brand new original Mi2. Gps worked like a charm even on chinese JBL 7. Today it seems like i cant find gps fix. I would definetly like to flash latest miui android rom but i'm hearing some strange issues with battery life and touch screen. Does anyone know if those problem will be arranged in today's build? Or if someone knows what to do to get fix Thx

I haven't tried these suggestions yet, but these are possible solutions:

If you use a rom straight from Xiaomi (e.g. JLB Stable, non-MIUIAndroid), you should replace your NetworkLocations.apk. Check here: http://miuiandroid.com/community/th...-miui-jlb4-0-stabile-build.18806/#post-149038

OK, good tip for you guys.. root your JLB 7.0 as per the following guide:

Remember to download the files, install and IMMEDIATELY launch the "Permission Manager" to enable root then close it, run Root Explorer ES and mount and delete the file as per the guide.. reboot, and you're rooted. After that, install FasterGPS and config your location file. Reboot, and install GPS Fix or something similar.. go to an open space and try to look for a fix. My GPS works great.. I've installed the world navigation enabled Google Maps and able to get a proper fix. Remember, you need to be out in the open to get a proper GPS fix! I've tried indoors but it was no go. It's not the ROM's fault.

I found it myself already and its very simple indeed. Just follow the instructions one post before and it works like a charm now. I replaced the location service too for avoiding future troubles with it

Hi,

I tried today to override networklocation.apk on my JLB10, using the LBE package mentionned in the post.
But now my phones display a popup after a reboot: "Active Protecion Service will finish update after reboot" and the only possible action is to reboot the phone!

Need helps please

I've flashed JLB7.0 and fixed the GPS via this method, but now I can't receive phone calls.

I'm not having any problems with the MIUIandroid builds either. I was just testing out JLB7.0 because of the rumored battery life increase over MIUIandroid, otherwise MIUIandroid is great, definitely my current pick for daily driver ;D

Turns out it wasn't

Turns out it was a fluke carrier issue, not the rom.

I had the same problem on JLB 10, and I have the same problem on JLB 11.

On JLB 10, the pop-up would show up immediately after boot and lock me out of a working phone... so I turned off Active Protection Service autostart but get the reboot message whenever I turn it on in JLB 11.

So looking for a way to root JLB 10/11... can anyone translate http://bbs.xiaomi.cn/thread-6580766-1-1.html ?

I was able to achieve root on JLB via installing LBESecV2_Su.apk twice, rebooting each time:

Install two times this fail http://android.bulfon.com/APK/LBESecV2_Su.apk , you have rebooted your phone after each install!

7.0, I would've tried the other two, but didn't get what I wanted from 7.0, i.e. better battery life, so I'll be sticking with MIUIandroid.

Your reply is off topic then... no one ever said they couldn't root JLB 7. We're talking about how we can't root JLB 10 (and presumably 11) because the rooted permission app turns into a boot loop.
