Yeah its been known for a long time that its like that, we had a bypass for this for devices launched with MIUI.

yep sadly had the same issue.... i hope they will be able to put that recovery into the rom as standard

go on install, switch to image and then flash the img to the recovery partition

What problem do you have with it? what specifically isnt working?

which img do you use for getting root? is it init_boot? When was the last time you did a clean flash?

Different device but i have the same issue with my Xiaomi 14 when i am on Magisk 30/30.1 Why would you go back to 28104 though? is there a specific reason? doesnt the stable Magisk 29.0 (29000) work for you?

You probably need to login into the exact google account the backup was made in

to push something into internal storage do adb push sdcard like adb push Magisk-v29.0.zip sdcard/Download
