Stock Jellybean 4.1.1 on xiaomi M2/2S (Latest is QDT14 with Changelog)

Changing mobile operator name: No, there's no modification for this as far as I know. You can remove the carrier name from notification bar using a modified SystemUI.apk I posted 3 pages ago...

    Stuck on booting screen

Yes, this should work. QCS99 is the latest stock Android version for the MI-2. Be sure to use the QCS99 (89 had touchscreen issues for some users). Download the ZIP, move it to /sdcard/, rename it to update.zip, enter recovery like @grondinm described, select English in first recovery screen...

[RADIO] All xiaomi mi2 radio thread

Ok, thank you. This makes automatic tasks like "put phone to flight mode every monday from 0600 to 0800am" useless. Not a big issue, though :-)

[RADIO] All xiaomi mi2 radio thread

Does anyone have PIN code request after leaving flight mode? If *not* - which modem are you using? Sorry for slight OT but I don't remember if MIUI requests pin code after flightmode per default like QCS99 does. Maybe there's a way to keep PIN request at boot and disable PIN request for...

Stock Jellybean 4.1.1 on xiaomi M2/2S (Latest is QDT14 with Changelog)

I'm using QCS99 with some modifications from the day it was published (except a few days on V5-dev) and the only "bug" I ever noticed is that the data transfer indicator (arrows) on the mobile data icon/statusbar get stuck every now and then if actually using wifi. QCS99 feels pretty fast and...

Just follow the thread you linked (which is this one), touchscreen issue reports for QCS89 on pages 4-5, link to QCS99 and reports about touchscreen working fine from page 5+. QCS99 works really, really good :)

    Resolved Stock AOSP Keyboard Vibration

After installation MIUIAndroid's default vibration time defaults to 5ms - we can't feel that. Vib. duration can be changed in settings->language/input->keyboard->advanced. Using e.g. 40ms vibration is working fine.

    3.3.1 (V5)

Just tried this using 3.3.1 hotfix3, language EN, stock browser - adress bar search defaults to Google and worked 3 or 4 times in a row, no issue.

    so... whats new in v5?

"so... whats new in v5?" - did Xiaomi make changes in the icon system? There seem to be a set of default V5-styled icons in /system/media/theme/miui_mod_icons (squared icon pictures, 136x136) and a set of masks for borders amd frames in /system/media/theme/icons. If we add some new icons to...

    so... whats new in v5?

Another way to replace that new font is A) Replace the Miui-Regular.ttf and Miui-Bold.ttf in /system/fonts with renamed Roboto-Regular.ttf and Roboto-Bold.ttf OR B) edit the following part of /system/etc/system_fonts.xml to match the font you want to use (did that before flashing, works fine)...

Stock Jellybean 4.1.1 on xiaomi M2/2S (Latest is QDT14 with Changelog)

@Shoane - Glad you like it, IMHO statusbar looks much better without the carrier (+ there's more space for notifications). @bubblr3: QCS99 is deodexed.

Stock Jellybean 4.1.1 on xiaomi M2/2S (Latest is QDT14 with Changelog)

Seems to work - tested only for a few minutes now but here's the modified SystemUI.apk to hide the carrier string. Please use at your own risk. Used latest apktool, changed/added layout_width/height to 0.0dip and android:maxLength="0" to com.android.systemui.statusbar.phone.CarrierLabel in...

Stock Jellybean 4.1.1 on xiaomi M2/2S (Latest is QDT14 with Changelog)

Does anybody know if there's an easy way to get rid of the carrier in the notification bar? I'll try to remove it with iBotPeaches' apktool and SystemUI tonight but maybe there's a less intrusive way?

carrier name eating the whole notification bar

If I remember right I ran into the same issue - you can try to use a file explorer app, browse to /system/app, remount /system read-writable, look for the control panel APK (don't remember the exact name) and change it's permissions to match all other apps in /system/app (= rw-r-r). That worked...

Stock Jellybean 4.1.1 on xiaomi M2/2S (Latest is QDT14 with Changelog)

If you are coming from a non-AOSP version wiping is mandatory. The QCS99-OTA package should update to same version as the QCS99-full package type-R posted. Tried only OTA which works fine.

Stock Jellybean 4.1.1 on xiaomi M2/2S (Latest is QDT14 with Changelog)

Update: I gave up on AOSP and used miuiandroid for the last hours/days which worked fine, today user Zipalign posted an update in the QCR89 bug thread en.miui.com: QCS99 has been uploaded as an OTA package, install went fine: JLB7.0 -> QCQ79 via updater -> recovery -> wipe -> booted to QCR79...

Stock Jellybean 4.1.1 on xiaomi M2/2S (Latest is QDT14 with Changelog)

Yep. I'm giving up QCR89 for now. QCQ79 working well for the last few hours, going to use this a few days I think. In case someone else wants to try this - flashing gapps like described elsewhere did not work for me (nothing happened, no errors, no gapps) but moving playstore to /system/app...

Stock Jellybean 4.1.1 on xiaomi M2/2S (Latest is QDT14 with Changelog)

Update: Found the earlier QCQ79 AOSP version via this ROM page someone posted here yesterday (thank you): http://www.miui.com/thread-824671-1-1.html - base: JBL7.0 on both partitions - flashed QCQ79 via updater to partition1 - rebooted (without wipes, just testing) - touchscreen WORKS. -...
