    why choose miui ?

As a flash addict, there is a great appeal in flashing nightlies :) Trick with flashing nightlies is make nandroid backups often. And Label the ones that are stable, so when you flash a new nightly and it is not stable, you drop back to a previous build until the next one comes out to try...

    Update problem

:) That is a different problem entirely. I think I would just flash it manually like above. A bit more work but it will update and you won't lose anything. Or you can see if someone has a suggestion about what might be going on with the updater. Good luck!

    Update problem

I believe the OTA only works from the previous weeks build. No worries. Just download the rom from the rom links above for your phone and put it on your sd card. Boot into recovery, wipe the dalvik and cache only. Find the rom you downloaded and placed on your cd, flash it, and reboot...

    A2SD on latest MIUI rom

There are literally 25 threads on this on this site, use the search feature for more details. That being said...... A2SD+ is based on Dark-Tremor's A2SD and is build into this rom. To use it, your sd card must have an ext3 partition. I generally suggest when you partition it that you set it...

    Voice Input Problems with Apps

Not sure of a solution. Did it do this on 1.10.14 ot 1.10.07 as well or just this build. You may also want to try "Iris" (what a coincidence, it is "siri" spelled backwards). It is available in the market. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.dexetra.iris

    Tmobile on ATT

The answer is maybe. If the phone is unlocked, then yes, but....... Your data speed will depend on the frequencies the phone is capable of. If the phone has ATT frequencies, then the best you will get on TMO will be edge speed.

What devices are likely to be supported by MIUI\Cyanogen in the near or far future??

Neither here nor there for the purposes of the thread, but the G1 and MyTouch3g (e.g. HtC Dream and Sapphire) were not dropped because no one uses themor were downloading nightlies. Cyanogenmod stopped support at CM6 because they did not feel the phone, which was already a legacy/eol and had a...

    cwm nandroid backup checksum error

On what phone? Using what version of Rom Manager and CWM? There have been issues with some devices using the latest cwm with it corrupting the sd card partition. Can it restore a previous older nandroid or flash a new rom?

What devices are likely to be supported by MIUI\Cyanogen in the near or far future??

Generally, anything that sells well that is premium in specs. Mid grade phones, phones that don't sell well are highly unlikely to ever see ports. Generally the phones that get developed are those that the dev's actually own themselves. Other than that, no one knows until they do.

    HELP - System UIDs Inconsistent

Thank goodness for the nandroids, lol, I have gotten into the habit of backing up the rom as soon as it is loaded and apps put back. I have a lot of them saved now (20 or so) so and they are backed up on my computer as well so I can always flash back to something working. In any case, I am...

    HELP - System UIDs Inconsistent

That is the system user Id. Some think it occurs because of a mismatch in the id from flashing a lot of roms, and something being incompletely wiped or left over from a previous flash. If you are using amon_ra recovery, it has a fix uid setting, look in the amon ra menus and see if that...

Vibration after call pickup and call hang

It's a feature, just like in CM7. Some people really like this. I am not one of them. Turn it off by: Dialer>Menu>Settings>Vibration>No Vibrate Hope that helps!

MIUI Breaking after a week or 2

Since you don't use Rom Manager, it wouldn't be that then :) Your sd card comes formatted with a windows FAT partition. An ext3 (or any ext, ext2, ext4 partition) is a linux partition. Those of us using an ext3 partition with Miui do so to take advantage of the A2SD+ that is built into...

Is your Settings>System>Date and Time correct with the correct time zone, etc? Is the app updating at all with the correct temperature ? Just trying to rule out those, may be others will have suggestions as well. Good luck.

MIUI Breaking after a week or 2

Just a couple of thoughts..... First, if you have updated Rom Manager in the recent past to the 5.x series, you might consider going back to the 2.5.x series as the current one seems to be corrupting the ext3 partition. Second, If you have an ext3 partition on your sd card, you might want...

How to change from MIUI back to Android?

You are going to need to get a copy of the original rom it had on it. Usually XDA or AndroidForums is a good place to start. Then you need to flash the original rom, and then probably unroot it as well. I am sure if you check either of those two sites that there will be information that you...

    help!!

For the user group problem, are you talking about on the phone or on this bulletin board forum? As for the forum page, it loads for me on opera, firefox and ie, and did earlier today on opera when I downloaded the rom as well. What browser are you using, etc?
