Does anyone know if OTA update 7.9.7 is safe to install on China Dev rom?

Has there been any China Dev update since 7.6.8 ? They used to be released fortnightly, but I haven't seen one since early June .

Great work Papka, the China Dev ROM 7.3-23 works perfectly. I'm not seeing the 'Find Device Unexpectedly Ended' message any longer :) It is still using the Xiaomi browser when clicking on a URL even though Chrome is set as my default??

So I deleted it and now Updater cannot find any updates available. Did it get removed by Xiaomi ? Even if I select the file which was previously downloaded in 'Downloaded_ROM' folder (7.3.16 to 7.3.23), the screen hangs on a message 'Getting update info...' I also keep seeing on the screen for...

Do you mean delete the whole LatinlmeGoogle folder? That's all I have that has the name Latin in it. I am displaying hidden and system folders too.

Hi all, I'm having issues with the OTA 7.3.23 It downloads, updates but on reboot I see only a Chinese menu....I couldn't switch off the device at this stage and had to select one of the menu items.....pure guess and I got lucky because it went through the update process again and upon reboot...

Just a quick message to let you know that OTA 7.3.16 is good for the China Dev rom. I thought it was my turn to test it for this group :) Annoyingly though, URLs continue to open the Xiaomi browser rather than the default (Chrome for me)

I just successfully applied the update, two reboots and all is good.

I held off installing the update yesterday just in case this was the situation.

Oh ok, I use the Smart Launcher Pro 3 and so can fully customise anyway.

Hi Papka, Maybe I'm stupid but I'm unsure what you mean by "bigger grid (5x6)" I'm uninterested in Dolby Atmos on the device as the only sound app's I use is for YouTube. Thanks for all your dedication, hard work and help! Steven

That all worked a treat. I must have updated using your older 7.2.16 without the new Recovery.img I'm now happily on China Dev 7.2.23 with a verified bootloader. Thanks once again Papka :)

I tried to install 7.2.23 OTA but keep getting "Install update.zip failed! Error applying update" and only have a 'Back' button option. So I 1) used Toolbox to remove the 'Verified' setting from my device 2) deleted the update.zip file from downloaded_roms folder 3) re-downloaded via OTA and...

Hi Papka, installed China 7.2.16 and currently on second reboot...all is looking great so far :) No errors encountered and I didn't press 8 in the Toolbox to exit....whoop whoop, happy days ! Thank you so much for all your help. One further question, I always have the Error 03 on powering...
