Thanks Managed to do it through root explorer, makes no difference though. Open maps, try and get location and it says 'location temporarily unavailable'. Turn on wifi though and it gets a lock straight away.

Yeah I can't see an issue with my bands. I can also get onto 3G on both T-Mob and Orange, the issue is that for no reason I just lose service completely. Or I am unable to go on 3G sometimes.

Yeah i'd say go with HotMID. The price is probably one of the best you will get and from all I have heard they are reputable. They also choose their manufacturers wisely and seem to go for a lot of the higher end Chinese brands.
