facing the same problem, i erase the face data and now I cant add it again, just the message COULDN'T RECOGNIZE YOU or DONT MOVE THE PHONE, im leaving the phone on the table so its 100% still.

I´m struggling with the same thing right now, I really want to disable the passcode with the face and then swipe to unlock. Sadly (in this case), is so fast the face recognition that you cant read the notification as littlejonny17 said. It would be nice to have this option!
