Hello I've received my mi 5 on Thursday. Ask the same day for unlock authorization. Received it today. 5 minutes later, my bootloader was unlocked. 15 minutes more I was under xiaomi.eu. But I agree with you that I never succeed to unlock my mi 4s by the official way.

Xiaomi.eu is the best that you can find. Very closed to minimal miui. Full working gapps. More battery friendly than CM based ROM. Not the latest android version but works very well. Just have to unlock your bootloader, install twrp and flash xiaomi. EU. That's it. Tchuss. Yoh

Yep I'm quite disappointed too. When I've chosen mi 4s, I thought that it would be ported quickly to Marshmallow.... I was wrong..... Some features missed me, especially in Google apps..... Will wait for a major update of android but not sure next one will be a xiaomi phone... Tchuss. Yoh
