I appreciate your prompt reply but as I mentioned I have very little knowledge of terms such as WPA or WEP. I'm self isolating at the moment but will ask my son to help with this problem when I get to see him again. I thought this may have been a common fault with an easy fix. Thanks again.

Hi, I have a 9 pro and having the same or similar problem. Every time I leave the phone for any length of time, overnight or for a couple of hours during the day, I have to reconnect to wi-fi. I recently upgraded from Note 4X and had no problem with wi-fi until now. Any help would be appreciated...
