Tried both, in recovery and using adaway, but after rebooting none has worked. Cease trying and rolling back to my former backup now. Anyway, thanks for you help.

I did follow and create a symlink in recovery command line, yet after rebooting nothing change.. I'm on magisk 18.1 and don't know what's the cause.

Mi 8 after upgrading to this build, my adaway host setting was lost, and everytime trying to re-build the ad-blocking hosts, it just keeps prompting 'not enough space on the partition' even though there are a lot. The symlink workaround helps nothing. Now I'm overwhelmed by ads in chrome. Feels...
