I also came from a stable to this rom, the first thing I noticed was the lag in animation and in closing/restarting the phone. After a few days I realised that the lag has disappeared and now this rom behaves "normal". I think it's good after flashing to leave the rom for a wile after restarting...

You also selected the china-rom fastboot .tgz-file in the miui-flashing tool?

Try to use another cable, and/or usb-port.

Also format data in twrp if you wiped data before.

Try to find this miflash tool: MiFlash2018-5-28-0, go into fastboot, connect and then it should work with this fastboot rom: sirius_images_8.10.25_20181025.0000.00_8.1_cn. Extract it to a .tgz-file and than flash. Otherwise I don't know.
