Just did bit of testing. For me it works only when I change miui and user refresh rate at the same time. After that I can close app. If I change only one and close setedit. Refresh rate will return to default. Other commands.

Well because in setedit. When you open app you can change tables - System, Secure, Global. Open every one of them and search "refresh" then change found refresh rate commands, all of them. Setedit works for me, I'm capping refresh rate at 100hz. Čauko, som Slovák :-) ale nechcem porušovať...

What parameters did you change in setedit. Did you change all of them ?

I recommend you to open Google or Chagpt and look if there are any available. Also you can try universal kernel tweakers if you have magisk/root if that's what you want to do.
