They stopped support because many devices got bricked. You won't have fastboot, you won't have anything in such cases. Only Boot ROM download mode, which requires a Mi Authorized Account. In such cases, you will need to visit a service center. Before you flash anything, read this...

What is supported? Redmi note 8 Pro is not supported by Xiaomi.eu Twrp is not working with Android 10 on redmi note 8 Pro. Show me link to how it is supported.

Its only problem with Android 10 as twrp is not yet supported. Please reconsider support for Android 9 meanwhile. This is a popular device, mtk is not the problem.
